Lide Road is the main road along the southern perimeter by the main gate inthe Xili Campus(Liuxiandong Area). It extends east to the Jinyuan Student Residential Complex, passing through Xihu Lake, Mingde Building, and west of the Tongde Building and gymnasium. Its nameLide (“Establishing Virtue”), comes from the concept of the Three Imperishables in Zuo Tradition:“The highest virtue is to establish virtue.”Here,“virtue”is taken as the foundation of education and the ultimate realm of life, perfectly echoing the University’s philosophy of simultaneously cultivating virtue and professional skills. The name implies that nurturing talent should begin with cultivating virtue, and achieving success should begin with becoming a complete person.
